Access Lab & Library’s equipment library is designed to remove barriers for artists and small companies to include access as part of their creative productions. We offer a diverse range of tools to enable you to experiment with and deliver audiodescriptions, captions, pre-recorded materials, tactile publications, events, advocacy and activism.

Image description: This photo shows the remote audiodescription setup we provided to Melbourne Fringe for their 2025 Gala at the Capitol Theatre. In a brightly-lit bio box, a selection of audiodescription equipment is laid out on a trestle table. It includes an open briefcase full of wireless radios and earpieces, a pair of headphones, a microphone and speaker, and a laptop showing live-streamed vision from the venue’s stage.

Unlike a traditional equipment hire company, our equipment library exists specifically to facilitate creative access. Items are available for loan, and we can support you with technical and creative guidance and consultation.

    Our inventory includes:

    • Digital and analogue FM wireless transmitter and receiver systems for audiodescription and low-power broadcast performances
    • A compact, battery-powered stereo wireless PA system (ElectroVoice EVERSE 8)
    • Zoom H4essential accessible 32-bit float handy audio recorders
    • A Mac Mini (M4) with a full QLab license to help you run installations and live performances with accessible audio, video and lighting cues
    • A Cricut Maker 3 cutting/debossing machine
    • Professional audio and video equipment to support high quality preproduction and asynchronous performances
    • Interfaces and converters to support live-streamed presentations and participation
    • A selection of haptic transducers to activate vibrational audience experiences

We’ll publish more information about our inventory soon.
